I love artists who sound like where they’re from. I think of Ireland’s Glen Hansard and Scotland’s Adam Thompson. I’d now like to add Gavin Doyle to that list! Hailing from Dublin, the singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer has just released his incredible new album entitled ‘Worlds Between Us’. A journey into the musician’s struggles with religion, relationships, and self-esteem, it features six tracks that beautifully showcase just what Gavin Doyle is all about – heartfelt and genuine storytelling with compelling and powerful songwriting.
“These songs cover a lot of different topics and themes,” says Gavin. “But they all fall somewhere under the umbrella of self-discovery”. ‘Start With Goodbye’ gets things underway, and it’s a haunting and moving piece of music that sets up the album perfectly. ‘All I Ask Of You’ then follows and, once again, Doyle invites us into his deepest and most personal thoughts and views.
His vocal performance on ‘Turn Around’ is simply breathtaking and, in truth, ‘Worlds Between Us’ is quickly becoming one of my favourite records of the year! Gavin has truly produced an absolute worldie, and I believe that it’s deserving of some serious recognition and airplay. I eagerly await to hear what he offers up next but, for now, I’m just thoroughly enjoying his new album!
