Gary Mictian Warns Against Toxic Relationships in ‘I Die Every Night’

When approaching Gary Mictian, one has the impression he’s made to be a popstar. Hear us out: it’s not just his extremely fresh take on modern pop, particularly flourishing in his production skills; it’s also his ability to craft engaging and relatable melodies, transporting the listener on a real introspective journey. Mictian has been showcasing those qualities for the past couple of years, releasing gem after gem. Now, he’s back with his most powerful offering to date: ‘I Die Every Night’ takes the project’s sound a step further, exploring hyper-pop territories and experimental tropes, only to then deliver a punchy and memorable chorus.

Anticipating an EP release – ‘Vertigo’ – expected for May, ‘I Die Every Night’ focuses on recognizing past toxic relationships and being unable to break the cycle of seeking them out. The intense lyrical theme is echoed in the dazzling, dynamic and punchy production, helping Mictian in conveying the self-preservation message behind the song with accuracy.

What sets Mictian apart from other artists in the contemporary music landscape is his unique vision, which draws influence from a wide range of sources. From electronic pop to dystopian sci-fi to cinematic sound, Mictian weaves together disparate elements to create a world within a carefully constructed pop song. Heavily inspired by The Weeknd and Charli XCX, Mictian goes ahead to describe his process as: “always push boundaries and capture honesty and personality”.
