What’s better than a fierce, groovy and driving blues, delivered by American rocker Gary Dranow and harmonica virtuoso Joel Marshall? We’ll be completely honest, it’s rare to receive a blues tune nowadays. Let’s say that it’s reserved for legacy records or evergreen compilation. Well, once in a while, someone bold enough to rediscover tradition pops into the music industry. That man is now Gary Dranow, prolific songwriter and guitarist with a global profile.
We have written plenty about him already in our publication, but it’s interesting to note that our hero has been amassing a following in Ukraine, which led us to believe he’s ready for international fame. ‘I’m a Man’ is the blues piece we were referring to earlier: a slice of pure, unfiltered and playful energy, the single champions electric, rock-oriented blues with an eye for contemporary sensibilities.
