Garland Green Shares Punchy Banger ‘Baby Blue’

Delving into ‘Baby Blue’ feels like taking a time machine; blending sleaze college punk with punchy alt-rock, the track delivers a listening experience that’s fierce, rebellious and even slightly moody, thanks to relatable, clean and melodic lead vocals. Does it sound slightly retro? We’d say so – in fact, there’s a certain ‘2010’ flair in the record, echoing bands the likes of Hoobastank and 3 Doors Down, among others. That said, ‘Baby Blue’ flourishes in its own identity, and would be unfair not to believe in its contemporaneity. It exists, hence it has a place right here and right now.

Penned by Australian outfit Garland Green, the single showcases their quality and musical prowess, manifesting a style that’s bound to connect with listeners all around the world, especially during the current global punk resurgence. Working out of Hobart, Tasmania, the band is formed by Ben Fenton on Vocals, Joel Browning and Luke Dennis on Guitar, Nick Fenton on Bass and Andrew Fannon on Drums.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the lyricism in ‘Baby Blue’, they explain: “Baby Blue is an acknowledgement of the things you just have to look back on and laugh. Bad situations and tough times which turn into stories.”
