Frederick, the First Reveals Himself as an Agent of Groove in ‘So Good’

Symbolizing the historic shift taking place in the music industry at the moment, ‘So Good’ was first shared as a jam on social media, a short nugget of uplifting joy and euphoria meant to evoke a reaction – a like, a comment, a share – from Frederick, the First’s audience. It worked: after receiving positive reactions, it was clear that that single piece of music would become much more than just a short social media snippet. Motivated to serve his community, Frederick, the First set out to release a full version of it.

‘So Good’ makes now its way to us. It boasts an elegant, accomplished identity, having risen to the status of an irresistible disco-funk record. Channelling a certain retro flair, the track makes its way through classic punchy drums, groovy basslines, playful vocals and funk guitars. The perfect storm for maximum impact and immediate catchiness.

The Los Angeles-based creative explains the inspiration behind the piece: “Sometimes I just sit down and write with reckless abandon. There is no such thing as ‘no’ and the thing you think of first is the thing you go with. I do it as an exercise. And that’s exactly what I did with ‘So Good”.
