Cards on the table…This is not our first rendezvous with the ridiculously talented Sydney-based singer/songwriter and producer Francis Eden. Ever since ‘Fool’s Gold’, her debut single, we’ve been firm admirers of the artist’s pioneering sound. She’s since gone on to release three more tunes, each with a life and a story of their own, and today I’m proud to introduce you to the fourth.
‘Corny Song’ is Francis’ brand new track. Recorded through a tape machine, it’s a song that is full of warmth and old-school authenticity. Telling the tale of a strong and independent single mother who faces adversity head-on, Eden has concocted an exquisitely sweet little ditty that stays with you long after it’s over.
Working alongside producer Pete Covington, (Thelma Plum, Annie Hamilton, Em George) ‘Corny Song’ serves as the musician’s last release before she unleashes her debut album. Scheduled to still come out this year, I have a strong suspicion that 2024 may very well be the year of Francis Eden!
Oh, and before we head off, we must insist that you check out the awesome video for ‘Corny Song’. Offering a hug to anybody who’d listen to her latest tune, it’s a heartwarming and wholesome offering that is sure to put a smile on your face!
