There’s something inherently retro and classic in Foundry Town Survivors’ latest offering. Delving with both hands into raw 70s-inspired rock stylings, the American band is decisively fierce and electrifying, taking us back to a time when things were… just a little bit looser, let’s say that! ‘RPM’ is exactly what you are imagining it to be: a throwback to primal and fuzzy rock’n’roll.
Headed by Mark Tomorsky, talented Detroit-area musician with a long history of illustrious musical militance, Foundry Town Survivors are not certainly new to those kinds of exploits; lucky for us, it never gets old. The hypnotizing guitar solo in ‘RPM’, for instance, reminds us of the luscious sound of Led Zeppelin, among others.
Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘RPM’, Foundry Town Survivors explain: “An authentic and heartfelt tribute to those golden years of the Grande Ballroom [historical Detroit music venue, now closed] and the fantastic groups coming out of that scene”.
