Foreign Voices is one of those bands that rises from the ashes of old projects. Like a phoenix, rising from its ashes, one’s outfit death is another one’s birth. In the case of our Plymouth-based heroes, past experiences all pointed towards Foreign Voices, an artistic journey that started back in 2020. Guided by Adam Leandro’s deep, malleable vocals and meaningful lyricism, the band champions a friendly, charming eclectic rock formula, exploring theatrical tunes laced with post-punk and hard-rock references.
‘Empiric’ is the perfect evidence of that. Foreign Voices’ latest effort, the track is introduced by new-wave flavoured guitar riffing, only to then leave ample space to Leandro’s storytelling, showcasing his powerful and hypnotising vocals in the process. Once the chorus hits, the intensity rises, delivering a pretty impressive slice of modern guitar work. Quite addictive too.
Exploring introspective lyricism, drenched in personal experience and universal themes, ‘Empiric’ is a worthy listen for any music fan out there. Recorded at Cube Recording Studios in Cornwall by Ross Rothero-Bourge, the single is taken from the band’s upcoming second EP, a record that we are looking forward to hearing in full.
