Fringe Frontier Share Hazy Single ‘Wirehouse’

Look, from time to time we like to write reviews without reading any press material beforehand. There’s a strong sense of mystery in it, and it also allows us to enjoy the musical material at face value. It does make a lot of sense for ‘Wirehouse’: a hazy yet intense and punchy track, the record is incredibly vibrant and expansive, going from intimate, clean verses to disruptive and noisy choruses.

Such a stark contrast is the perfect environment for lead vocals delivered with a casual, raw, and evocative flair. Fringe Frontier are responsible for all of it: hailing from Florida, the American group embraces the great history of fringe rock (exactly what it says on the tin). From psychedelia to shoegaze, passing through everything that’s post and avant-garde, ‘Wirehouse’ is certainly heavily inspired by it.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Fringe Frontier explain: “It evokes the shadows of the Lower East Side and the shadows of lost love.”
