Based in Norway, Filip is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who began his music career as lead guitarist for various Norwegian rock bands. Deciding to go solo in 2016, the musician has been rather prolific ever since. ‘I Still See You’ is one of twelve singles he’s released, alongside four full-length albums, yet it still feels like the perfect introduction to this ridiculously talented artist.
I suppose it’s to be expected, but the guitar work on the tune is absolutely phenomenal, and it’s easy to see why Dahl is so highly thought of in the guitar world. Drawing on inspiration from heavyweights like Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Marillion, and Dream Theater, Filip has fashioned a unique and distinctive sound of his own – a signature style that people are really beginning to take notice of.
There’s a little something for everyone when it comes to ‘I Still See You’. Hints of nostalgia scattered throughout, but with a definite nod to more modern-day styles and elements too. Just perfect! A categorical stunner!
