Fellow Robot Unleash Latest Single ‘Crash and Burn’

Jeremy Bregman

The special thing about ‘Crash and Burn’, the new single from California-based indie-rockers Fellow Robot, is that it’s the first song frontman Anthony Pedroza tracked vocals for after losing his voice for four months due to COVID-19. Serving as the second single from the band’s upcoming cinematic album ‘Misanthropioid’, ‘Crash and Burn’ sees Fellow Robot getting poignant and truthful in a synthy, rich, and emotive soundscape. It’s a little dark pop, a little alternative, and gives off hints of classic 80s and 90s rock. Just up my alley!

“When I wrote ‘Crash and Burn’, it wasn’t clear if my partner and I would continue making music together,” says Pedroza. “I fucked up and betrayed his trust”. Asking the age-old question “Do you need me anymore?“, ‘Crash and Burn’ is as candid and forthright a tune as I’ve heard in a long time.

The group teamed up with legendary Grammy-award-winning engineer and producer Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Adele, Metallica) to construct ‘Misanthropioid’. With someone like Scheps alongside them and the musical brilliance of each band member, there’s no telling how far Fellow Robot can go. We think we’ve got a pretty good idea, though!
