Faults is the eclectic audiovisual project of Swedish artist KC Dahlehan, a musician who is also widely known for her previous work in post-punk act Plaisir. We at Mesmerized feel pretty deep for her debut single ‘Just Let it’, and labelled it “a euphoric offering drenched in bright soundscapes, fuzzy guitars, and saturated arpeggiators”. Today, however, I would like to introduce you to ‘Sweets’, KC’s synthy and atmospheric second solo offering.
Gloomy in nature, the tune gently rocks the listener into a spell of wistful introspection. Through dark and “heavy” guitars, subtle yet shimmering synths, and seductive vocal loops, Faults guides you through a harsh reality check. But she also offers you a warm sonic blanket. And cradles you in a sort of snug and comfortable sadness. It’s pure magic if I’m being completely honest!
As seems to be the theme of today, Faults has also gifted the world a truly exceptional music video to accompany ‘Sweets’. Created in the form of a crime drama and directed by filmmaker Georg Bruno Baur, we are honoured to be able to share it with you below!
Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘Sweets’ on Spotify and YouTube now:
