FARI Shares Playful and Uplifting Gem ‘Light’

It took us a while to come to terms with ‘Light’; a hypnotizing, playful piece, it seems to act as a sort of ‘lullaby’, perhaps thanks to its author’s vocal prowess and the many charming harmonies that flourish in it. Hailing from Brighton, UK, FARI sees her voice as her biggest asset, and rightly so; dynamic, malleable and precise, the British songstress is able to build a whole sonic universe with just a few elements, wrapping the listeners into cathartic energy and unmatched elegance.

‘Light’ also features a minimalistic yet functional production which greatly complements FARI’s nuanced songwriting action. Teaming up with Jack Wilson (Fickle Friends), she’s able to place the track in a timeless universe, resulting in a gem that would work well in the early ‘2000 as it does now. Simply, it’s carried by its own fuel, that being FARI’s extraordinary artistry.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Light’, she explains: “It’s the song you play after a night out when you feel like you overshared or the gig went bad. It’s a feel-good song for a bad time”. If you are in Brighton, look out for FARI’s upcoming show, on August 23rd at Komedia.
