Experimental Duo A.M. Architect Gear Up for New Album

From time to time, I like to write about music without context. As in jumping into a record without reading any information surrounding it. Perhaps controversial, it’s also very revealing, allowing me to fully grasp the musical character of what I am listening to without outside influence. That’s what I am doing right now with ‘Petrichor’ by A.M. Architect

It’s a surprisingly potent piece. Packed with nuanced sound design and experimental textures, the record seems to be embracing the icier, most leftfield side of electronic music, together with scattered, otherworldly female vocals that are as angelic as they are ethereal (courtesy of Delenda).

This is all extremely relevant because it is such pensive, introspective material that allows us (the listeners) to be fully absorbed by the project’s heightened escapism. Sprinkled with general melancholia, ‘Petrichor’ delivers a wistful, tender sonic journey, one that can be both healing or troubling, depending on the recipient.

Now for some well-deserved context: the single anticipates A.M. Architect’s new album ‘Avenir’, releasing on February 7th. American duo Stanush and Chavez are the talented humans behind the group, a multi-disciplinary entity that also pays a lot of care to their visuals.
