Eunice Keitan Celebrates Her Asian Identity on ‘No More Secrets’

I first discovered Toronto-based neo-soul artist Eunice Keitan when she jumped on Stephen James Orr’s track ‘Someone Real’, and I instantly fell in love with her smooth and sultry vocals. Her brand new single is called ‘No More Secrets’, and it serves as the final song from Keitan’s upcoming EP. Paying homage to a famous Guzheng (Zither) piece, the musician has created a deeply intriguing and mysterious sound. Grounded in R&B and soul sensibilities, ‘No More Secrets’ sees Keitan sending out a positive message of hope and healing to the world.

The song was written during the global pandemic, and at a time when anti-Asian racism was on the rise. “Simply making art which celebrated Asian identity felt like a revolutionary statement,” says Keitan. It also serves as a reminder that, through growth and change, better days are ahead.

It’s been so good to “hear from” Eunice Keitan again! She is ridiculously talented and accomplished. Her new EP will highlight ancient traditional soundscapes from three Southeast Asian regions and features contributions from many other top musicians. We truly cannot wait for its release!
