Ethan Gold Sings About Self-Acceptance in ‘Mirror Don’t Have Any Feelings’

One could write a book about Ethan Gold’s eventful, unique life. The son of the “oldest living beatnik” novelist Herbert Gold and single mother Melissa Dilworth, brother of Ari Gold, the nuanced creative, songwriter and filmmaker has been making art all of his life, only taking a step back when dealing with a head injury. Now returned to the fertile lands of sonic euphoria, Ethan has unveiled his latest effort ‘Mirror Don’t Have Any Feelings’, a meaningful and expressive slice of indie-pop and alt-folk goodness.

Built on a wholesome arrangement, rather slow-paced and packed with organic instrumental elements, ‘Mirror Don’t Have Any Feelings’ welcomes Gold’s heart-warming, elegant vocals, taking the listeners on a journey through “the struggles of so many young people to get acceptance from family and from the world, and to accept themselves” – as Ethan so eloquently explains.

Part of Gold’s ‘Earth City’ trilogy of albums about modern life (the longing for human connection, for love and thrill in the city, and for connection to nature), ‘Mirror Don’t Have Any Feelings’ anticipates an album set to be released later this year. Speaking about what we can expect from it, Ethan shares: “Stories of other people who didn’t escape their trauma, but also be a meeting of the introverts in the city.”
