Continuing on her quest for world domination, Los Angeles-based popstar Esthy has recently unveiled her latest offering, a mellow, evocative jewel titled ‘what’s it gonna take’. The track follows up from ‘bad dream’, a record we described as “majestic, one of the best pop efforts we have heard lately”.
Well, that seems to be the case this time around too: ‘what’s it gonna take’ is perhaps more lo-fi, chilled and expansive, but still packed with the same mainstream pop prowess that makes Esthy’s songwriting so relatable and evocative. The talented creative’s vocals are on point, especially during the catchy chorus, hypnotising and melancholic.
Speaking about the single, she explains: “It explores the heartbreak of holding onto a relationship as it slips away.”
