If you are looking for a good rock record, you just found it. ‘Seasons of the Wind’ is as fierce as one would want it to be, empowering old-school trashy guitar tones, an overall sense of fuzziness and charming rebellious flair. Over five punchy and energetic tracks, the EP showcases everything that Erik Hansen stands for. Hailing from Washington’s state, the talented rocker boasts past experience in a band called Fallen Angels.
Now embarking on a solo project, Hansen is keen to communicate his worth as a songwriter and composer, something that’s incredibly evident going by ‘Seasons of the Wind’. Starting with ‘The Road’ and ‘Send Me a Sign’ the EP focuses on high-paced, chaotic guitar-powered jewels and relatable lyricism, only to take it all down in ‘Horizon’, a mellower acoustic episode.
‘Traveler’ restores the record’s rock imprint, although with an expanded sonic palette and a darker formula. ‘Forever Dream’ reeks of a metal ballad, providing an epic ending to a fantastic EP. Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, ‘Hansen’ explains: “It’s about all the petty BS a lot of people put us through in our day-to-day lives”.
