Eoin Shannon Unveils Nuanced Folk Album ‘Hello Forever’

Some might be inclined to define ‘Hello Forever’ as an old-school record. Perhaps; as we see it, the album is simply timeless, a collection of heartwarming, meaningful songs with an approachable sonic contour and an aura that will likely appeal to any decade, going forward. Built on cathartic, acoustic-powered Folk goodness, ‘Hello Forever’ goes from minimal, gentle pieces such as ‘Dream of Yout Tonight’, to Celtic-flavoured episodes, the likes of ‘Come Down To The River’.

The addition of fiddles and harmonicas enriches greatly the artistic recipe behind the album. Further diversity is provided by the extensive melancholia and gloomy sonic smoke of ‘Night is Dark’ among others. It is perhaps here that we can catch a glimpse of Eoin Shannon’s transformative vocals: oscillating between a darker tone and a more positive outlook, the Irish songster completely kidnaps the listener’s attention, providing an aural experience that’s hard-hitting and memorable.

‘Hello Forever’ features a wide team of collaborators: Larry Magee, Andrei Sorokin and  David Murray, for instance, without forgetting the evocative vocals of Irish artist Chanele Kesha Parish, quite prominent in the whole album. Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Shannon explains: “It was influenced mostly by dark moods, and turning to God and my father when they occurred.”
