There’s something magical and extremely cathartic in AFAR ODEA’s artistic output. The German composer and musician weaves a blissful tapestry of delicate electronic textures, intimate beats and organic, poignant vocals, all drenched in spacious goo and meaningful songwriting. ‘wake up again’ is the perfect evidence of that.
In it, the Leipzig-based creative focuses on a lyrical delivery that’s evocative and elegant, slowly building up a hypnotising soundscape which is truly rewarding to listen to. ‘I limit’ sees AFAR ODEA getting closer to releasing a substantial body of work, shifting the attention to more energetic and crepuscular arrangements (perhaps resembling an early James Blake).
