What makes our world worth living in? For us, it’s art. Especially art that’s bold and daring, pushing the boundaries of modern culture forward. ‘The Gaian Mind’ belongs to that very same category, championing music that’s glorious, unexpected and rather futuristic. Penned by Icelandic sonic wizard Hewkii, the album touches a wide series of references, jumping from intense, fast-paced trance territories to more chill-out, psychedelic tones, passing through leftfield goa and spiritual elements.
It’s incredibly mesmerizing. The listening experience is bound to completely wrap the listeners in mind-bending euphoria, aided by the kaleidoscopic and bright palette of sonic fragments that come together with heavenly energy in ‘The Gaian Mind’. Helgi Freyr Tómasson is the talented human behind such a masterpiece; not only he’s an electronic music connoisseur, but also a keen cinematic traveller, judging by the final results…
Stylistically, it’s rather hard to keep track of every item on the menù; while the album serves dreamy build-ups, it also offers fuzzy dubstep energy, dub party material and general leftfield goodness. There’s something for everybody, and perhaps that’s what the record stands for. Acceptance and universality, served in artistic form.
