Enjoy Enlightenment Saloon’s new album ‘Scott DL’s Enlightenment Saloon’

Jeremy Bregman

Enlightenment Saloon is the musical project of Iowa-based singer/songwriter and guitarist Scott DL, and he’s just released his debut full-length album entitled ‘Scott DL’s Enlightenment Saloon’. Recorded with producer Gerard Estella at Artisan Studio, Scott enlisted the help of four other musicians to create a wonderful, power-pop, alternative-rock album. ‘New Normal’ gets things underway and was also the first single chosen by Scott to be released. The breezy guitar harmonises with the artist’s timeless vocals, and the poetic lyrics conjure up vivid imagery in this instant classic of a tune.

I’ve fallen in love with track two, ‘Margo Bought a Bridge’. Those opening keys, Scott’s epic vocals, when the bass and drums kick in…everything about the song is just right up my alley! ‘Industry of Leisure’ has an air of The Beatles to it – mixed with a little Springsteen. Though it could just be that dancing in the dark line.

The entire album really deserves your attention if I’m being honest. From ‘Ashes of a Life’ to ‘Take Me to Hong Kong’ and everything in between, Scott and his crew have produced a stellar collection of tunes that they ought to be immensely proud of!
