Elliott Jones Releases Melancholic Indie Jewel ‘Quite Like You’

‘Quite Like You’ perfectly fits our guitar ethos: spacious, fuzzy tones with plenty of reverbs and emotional energy. In fact, the whole track is pretty vibrant, leaving ample space for nostalgia and introspection. There’s also a certain playfulness to it, with Elliott Jones delivering his lyrical goodness with masked laziness – at least seemingly. The contrast between such a casual tone and its rich, noisy instrumental background provides an irresistible feat for the sense, lulled by guitars and hypnotised by Jones’ vocals.

Hailing from Southampton, Elliott continues the glorious British rock tradition, building a project that connects with the listeners almost effortlessly. Extremely modern yet drenched in tradition, ‘Quite Like You’ is a solo effort, although we are informed of Jones’ intention of adding his brother to the bill. Honestly, if he keeps it up, we are in for a stunning musical journey.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, he explains: “It focuses on appreciating the one thing that always makes me happy, but is usually out of reach” – in other words, the missing piece that will never be yours. Luckily, ‘Quite Like You’ can be yours very easily.
