We could define ‘Just Another Day’ as a stunning listening experience, yet that would still be reductive. Penned by British songstress Ella Jinks, the single contains all the quintessential elements that make her such a cherished creative. Gifting us three minutes of pure bliss and energy, the record provides a soothing respite from our over-complexed, intense reality.
Honestly, listening to Ella Jinks is bound to be life-changing for some. It would be for us too, if it wasn’t for the fact that we are rather accustomed to discovering such hidden gems. Not so hidden in this case: the London-based voyager has been already championed by the BBC Introducing, and judging by her output, it won’t be long till the rest of the industry follows suit. ‘Just Another Day’ is taken from the wider EP ‘The In Between’, out now.
Speaking about the inspiration behind it, Jinks explains: “The EP delves into the more uncomfortable parts of self-discovery and learning to face those darker aspects of ourselves that we tend to keep hidden. The songs became a cathartic release, a way of confronting my shadows and learning not to perceive them as flaws but as valuable parts of my identity”.
