Edgy, forward-thinking, and just incredibly fresh; ‘Jump Start’ has been an unexpected discovery, especially at this time of the year. Navigating the remote territories between electronica, fusion and leftfield stylings, the track features a catchy, bright synth riff that’s built over a blend of organic drums and glitchy beats. A tapestry of textures and noises helps the record exhibit a rather EDM-like structure, with majestic tension and release moments that completely overwhelm the listener.
Analyzing the project on a wider level, there are a few considerations to explore. First of all, there’s a latent Jazz aesthetic that’s not so obvious in ‘Jump Start’, but more in Pink Noize’s overall philosophy. Take for instance their eclecticism and trio-based formation – it’s all built around a fundamentally free musical spirit, something that is traditionally found in Jazz territories. Even their willingness to experiment is a strong sign of that.
The project is guided by the expert hands of Elisha Henis Miklosh (synth), and completed by talents Yonatan Farhi (bass) and Shai Yuval (drums). It’s a wonderful artistic marriage, one that has already turned eyes and industry attention. How could it not be? From what we heard, ‘Jump Start’ is gold for the bold minds and ears of all keen listeners.
