Edie Yvonne Unveils New EP ‘Girl Code’

Talking about laying foundations – Edie Yvonne is getting ready to build a skyscraper, in the form of a hopefully notable career with global relevance. It’s not hard to see that happening, especially seeing the name she’s created for herself at just 15 years old. Boasting an already pretty large catalogue, the Angelino talent now returns with a new EP, ‘Girl Code’, a rebellious, fierce pop-punk effort.

Accompanied by the ever-present collaborators Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta, Yvonne seems to be at home in punchy and energetic settings. Built on fuzzy distortions, pounding drums and intense production, tracks such as ‘2U’ still manage to retain a certain expressivity, perhaps in the veiled nostalgia that seems to arise from its lyricism.

An outstanding record, ‘Girl Code’ coincides with Yvonne starting high school, introducing a new existential and artistic phase in her career.
