Edie Yvonne Returns with Fierce Pop Number ‘Queen Bee’

The keen reader will gladly remember Edie Yvonne, American newcomer with an enormous amount of songwriting talent. Despite her young age, Yvonne is able to pen material that feels relatable, poised and enchanting. In fact, writing about ‘In The Rain’ earlier this year, we proudly declared: “In The Rain’ is such a fragile, nuanced and relatable gem, it’s hard to think it comes from the young mind of a fourteen-year-old”.

Now, the Los Angeles-based songstress returns with her latest effort, a record that feels fiercer and more energetic from the get-go. ‘Queen Bee’ leaves the melancholic territories of the project’s earlier efforts, delving into punchiness and kaleidoscopic atmospheres. We are into it! Yvonne’s vocals are particularly ethereal, stacked alongside such eclectic production, made up of arpeggiated synthetisers, distorted guitars and fast-paced grooves.

A collaboration with fellow creatives Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta, ‘Queen Bee’ is meant for an upcoming soundtrack, as Edie explains: “I wrote Queen Bee to go hand in hand with a short film I’m working on about mean girls and their minions.” Absolutely recommended!
