By my count, we’ve had the honour of reviewing eleven Edie Yvonne tunes. We’ve also been privileged to interview the Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and, truthfully, she feels like a part of the family around these parts.
‘Epitome’ is Edie’s latest offering, and it’s a tune that dropped last Friday on the artist’s sixteenth birthday. Marking two years of recording and releasing music, the musician describes the track as “the most intimate, emotional, and personal storytelling to date”.
Sonically, the listener is treated to an upbeat, chewy, and poppy piece of ear candy. Deeply immersive and with a sweeping energy that pulls you in and keeps you hooked from start to finish, ‘Epitome’ gets stuck in one’s head almost instantaneously. That’s a constant theme really when it comes to Edie Yvonne’s work…She’s able to (seemingly effortlessly) craft infectious yet profoundly meaningful music.
With her eighth single of the year, Edie is heading into 2025 with some serious momentum. Still somehow only sixteen years old, she carries the poise of a seasoned veteran – not someone who’ll still have to wait five years before (legally) purchasing a beer! An unquestionable superstar in the making, we’re not sure there’s much else we can say about Edie Yvonne at this point! We’ll never get tired of her songs!
