Serving as her tenth single of the year and her first-ever cover, Edie slows down and completely strips back the original. Opting for a mellow and restrained tone, she transforms the tune into an emotional masterpiece that resonates with honest vulnerability and introspection.
Produced by Doug Boehm, (Dr. Dog, Powderfinger, The Vines) Edie says that the track is “for those of you who aren’t that into Christmas music.” She goes on to say that it’s “for more sombre vibes during the holiday season,” and I have to be completely honest and admit that it’s striking a serious chord with me. That’s the magic of this artist…She always seems to offer up exactly what I require at the time!
