The last time we wrote about American rocker Eddie Cohn, it was a case of celebrating a charming live session where he performed ‘Wave Goodbye’. We proudly declared: “Cohn maintains the ability to pen intense, heart-shaking old-school bangers”. We stand by our words: the Los Angeles-based talent is certainly one of the most authentically nostalgic acts we have heard in a while, encompassing true stadium rock energy while keeping melodies relatable and expansive.
‘Keep Them Away’ is Eddie’s comeback single, crowning a rather productive year for the project. In it, Cohn confirms everything he’s been praised for: massive choruses, a nostalgic rock’n’roll arrangement with a certain emotional energy in it. Citing U2 as one of the biggest inspirations behind the song makes perfect sense.
Speaking about the record, Eddie explains: “This song is about trying to turn off all the outside voices and noise that get in the way of us having fun and living our best life”. A worthy, carefree listening experience. Give it a go!
