Duke Keats Shares Quirky and Hypnotising EP ‘Dirty Glamour’

We might be biased, but we are confident enough to declare Duke Keats the most original project we have heard this year. You see, an artist can take two different direction: follow the beaten path, running towards industry stylings and mainstream formulas; or, an artist can instead research their own niche, building a highly personal and unique sound that greatly mirrors his/her personality. Well, Duke Keats has done exactly that. A talented guitarist, singer and composer from Coventry, he guides a fluid collective of musicians around him, on a mission to break musical boundaries and genre-based conventions.

‘Dirty Glamour’ is the EP that celebrates the project as one of the UK’s best-kept secrets, hopefully, sooner available to a wider audience. In it, the listener will be met by an eclectic and kaleidoscopic sound, drenched in rock, ska and funk flavourings, all packaged into a hypnotising and rather psych offering. A charming saxophone gives the record a certain haunting flair.

Recorded live at the Tin Tin Music and Arts, the EP was produced in partnership with BBC Introducing in Coventry, on the 23rd December 2022. The result is impressive, and we are confident the industry will soon take note. Speaking about ‘Dirty Glamour’, Duke Keats explains: “The EP is the culmination of a year of growth, performing and honing in our craft as performers spending a year playing live around the UK”.
