Behind such goodness, we find Manchester-based outfit Dreaming of Citra – judging by what we hear, the future is bright for the talented group. A quick glance at their Spotify profile reveals a short, yet impactful catalogue and ever-rising streaming numbers. Not that we overly care about statistics, but it’s good to see good music get recognised!
An all-out, fierce banger, ‘Bitter’ starts with an electrifying guitar riff, tight drum grooves and veiled electronic textures. Such a compact and solid sound concoction helps the track provide a listening experience that’s vibrant and nuanced, especially once the chorus hits: extremely anthemic and relatable, the lyricism is delivered masterfully by Dreaming of Citra’s lead female vocals.
Overall, ‘Bitter’ sounds very mature for a relatively upcoming group. We are excited to see what else they come up with – Britain, look out for your next favourite band! Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, they explain: “Bitter represents a new direction for us. We wanted to capture that carefree summer feeling but also explore the bittersweet themes that everyone can relate to.
