This record is a luscious, elegant sin, at least for me and this publication; We don’t often adventure into deep metal territories, although I regularly enjoy extremely distorted treats, such as Gojira or Animal As Leaders… it’s a hidden addiction which is kept to myself 🙂 That said, when Bringer of Light found its way to my submission, I knew that it would deserve an article.
A self-declared deathcore project, Bringer of Light has just unveiled his latest EP, ‘Anthology II’, a slice of dark creepiness and gloomy intensity with frantic drum grooves, fuzzy distortions and a healthy dose of industrial noise. Fully instrumental, the record seeks to leave space for the listeners’ own thoughts, providing an extreme and hard-hitting soundtrack which will allure many keen peeps out there.
Hailing from Texas, Bringer of Light manages to pen a record which feels extreme, alternative, yet warm and accomplished. Our guilty pleasure, if you will… Speaking about it, the American rocker explains: “a blank canvas for the listener to come up with their own deranged fantasies”.
