I love being reminded of a musician. It was at the end of 2021 when I first discovered Helsinki-based Tom Tikka & The Missing Hubcaps. The prolific multi-instrumentalist had just released a tune called ‘By 2022’ that was full of energy and seriously infectious. When I saw ‘Venetian Rubber Boots’ “come across my desk” the other day, I couldn’t wait to hear from Tom again. A track that sees the hit singer/songwriter teaming up with Minds Behind the Music, an incredible organisation of musicians helping to save the planet, ‘Venetian Rubber Boots’ is Tikka at his mesmerising and authentic best. Folky, rocky, and powerful!
