Bri Schillings and her band outfit Sweet Imperfections have announced the release of their newest single, ‘Be Brave’. This is the second single from Schillings’ ambitious 2-year project, where she plans to release a new track every month. In a world where artistic commitment can be feeble and temperamental, the Californian artist is ready to immerse herself into a pure, unfiltered and raw creative journey.
Drawn to music from a young age, Schillings was (and still is) a very proficient player, experimenting with a wide range of instruments. Music was – you could say – the perfect escape, an alternate universe where she could be fully herself.
Sweet Imperfections saw the light of day in 2021, and since then has been a pretty productive project. Following up on last year’s EP ‘Me Is Better with We’ and recent single ‘Wings’, ‘Be Brave’ is the group’s latest record, a mellow pop-rock number with a knack for poignancy and relatability. Navigating a ukulele and organic arrangements, the track provides the perfect musical background for Schilling’s refined and evocative vocals, able to convey a thousand emotions in a single lyrical line. To note, there’s a strong folk influence.
Fans can expect ‘Be Brave’ to be a moving and emotional song, full of the heart and soul that Schillings brings to all of her music. Don’t take out words for it, check it out yourself.
