Discover Selett’s Mesmeric Tune ‘Hey Hey’ from Debut Self-Titled EP

In November of last year, New York City-based singer/songwriter Selett released her dreamy debut single ‘Marionette’. She followed that up with the beautiful ‘Wheels Within Wheels’, and she now unleashes a four-track EP that showcases just how gifted a musician she truly is. Self-titled, the EP begins with the rich and hypnotic ‘Hey Hey’, a brand new tune from the artist’s arsenal. Slow-paced, delicate, and downright soul-stirring, it’s a melancholy ballad you simply melt into and away with.

Described as, “ancient pain reconfigured into seductively fresh music,” Selett’s sound is deeply alluring and inviting. Her misty and reflective vocals add a sense of intimacy and vulnerability to proceedings, while her evocative lyricism displays a keen knack for genuine storytelling.

‘Marionette’ and ‘Wheels Within Wheels’ make up songs two and three of the EP, and we finish off with one of the most extraordinarily stunning tracks I’ve heard all year. With its haunting strings and emotive piano, ‘Mourning Drive’ feels like the perfect way to close out this breathtaking EP. It offers a chance to reflect, absorb, and savour the journey that just took place. I see big things ahead for Selett in 2024 and beyond, and I can’t wait to hear more from her!
