Discover OutWest

Guest Post

“Beers Up,” “You” and “Stay My Ass At Home” offer a glimpse into the signature and unique sound currently inhabited by OutWest. In this trio of tracks, the band confidently establishes an enticing sound that I found palatable and enjoyable.

What sets OutWest apart is their ability to weave hooks, instrumental elements and very solid production throughout their repertoire. While they may not be the most lyrically poetic ensemble, there’s a refreshing straightforwardness in their language, describing situations that resonate with a broad audience.

The band’s allure lies in their balance of familiarity and a subtle push towards novelty. Their melodies and arrangements go down smoothly, creating a musical experience that feels comforting but also pushes into some slightly novel territory…

After just a few listens, I found myself thinking that I could pick up a guitar and play along, a testament to the accessible nature of their music. It’s the kind of music that will resonate with a broad audience that wants a great song that sounds better the louder you pump it.

While OutWest may not be venturing into uncharted territory, their distinctive sound and adept songwriting possess the capacity to resonate with anyone who appreciates this particular musical style. Their offerings may not reinvent the wheel, but they certainly roll it along with an undeniable charm and skill.
