We adore discovering fresh music. Do you get us? Coming across a sound that you never really heard before, opening new artistic horizons and pushing the boundaries between genres. That’s how we felt upon discovering Evan Klar’s latest record, ‘Party Hard’. An exciting hybrid tune that places itself at the borders of hip-hop, classic house and two-step, resulting in an innovative stack of goodness. Klar’s vocals are punchy and otherworldly, sharing a broken flow which seems to work perfectly layered on top of the charming instrumental.
Active between Australia and Europe, Evan Klar is certainly not a newbie to the industry, having performed, written and produced for artists far and wide. His ability to focus on a personal project and do it so well just confirms the sublime level he’s at, right now. Talking about his experience recording the single, Klar explains: “The truth is, what I’m writing about is a bit too personal to share, I think that’s why I’m attempting to gloss over what I’m saying in a ‘Vengaboys meets Craig David at a Charli XCX show’ type thing”. Which makes sense: what better place to hide a sad song than a party tune? Deep down, dancing makes us transcends ourselves and our problems, allowing us to process our existence on a deeper level. Evan knows it well, and as the glorious, inspired artist he is, he caters to our needs with a banging track that we’ll cherish dearly.
