Discover Christopher Morse’s Poignant Songwriting in ‘Covering Old Scars’

If you are looking for heartwrenching, nostalgic poignancy, look no further than Christopher Morse. Emerging from Colorado, the talented singer and songwriter is able to encapsulate myriads of feelings into a song, allowing the listener a slice of escapism and melancholia. Originally debuting in 2021 but boasting a wide experience on stages across the country, Morse now returns with what’s potentially his best EP to date.

‘Covering Old Scars’ is a wholesome emotional journey through human nature, exploring themes of self-doubt and romanticism in unique and vulnerable songs. Recorded at Cinder Sounds Studios by John Mcvey, the EP blends the relatability of pop music while combining elements of folk, country, and Americana.

The results are extraordinary, with four wonderful tracks being born. ‘Always Been You’ opens the record with a strong Americana flair, right before ‘Never Had’ shifts the focus on introspective and mellow pop,  a true anthemic ballad. ‘Silver Lining’ takes it back to acoustic guitars and choral vocals, a sentiment echoed by ‘Help Me Out’, bringing the record to a close with a sensible and intimate arrangement, empowering the listener in finding stability and happiness.
