Discover Alexander Black’s Catchy New Record

We featured a few artists from Adelaide, Australia, recently. We have to say, there’s a lot of talent in that city! Another name you should discover is Alexander Black, newcomer with an impressively catchy sound, focusing on band-based indie-pop (think The 1975). Following up from last year’s single ‘Just Friends’, Black now returns with another banger, the dancy and bouncy jewel ‘Good Times (Don’t Stay The Night)’. What sticks out to us, is Alexander’s pop prowess: the songwriting is effective and memorable, with choruses you’ll remember for a long time.

Infused with groovy drums and clean, rhythmic guitars, the track provides a palpable euphoria when listened to, the kind of feeling capable to transform a party into a wild ride. Indeed, we are confident Black’s audience will be championing the track into the summer months, thanks to its bubbliness and meaningful lyricism. ‘Good Times (Don’t Stay The Night)’ tries to shed some light on the heavy, society-induced expectations after a night out, especially strong in the Queer community. As Alexander reiterates, we can have a good time, but you don’t have to stay the night!

Thriving into the delicious sonic reference they are submerged into, the Aussie artist’s vocals are a huge plus to the whole project: while exuding their grittiness and charisma, they also share a certain poignant quality, a glimpse of lightness.
