Desert Life Returns With Evocative Album ‘Let It All Pass’

The keen reader will remember British duo Desert Life from a series of features we did about them earlier this year. While getting close to an album release, the project has been hard at work unveiling single after single. In fact, we enthusiastically defined ‘Sphere’ as “one of those records crafted with care and intent, packing meaningful lyricism into a mellow and charming instrumental package”. Now, Desert Life is proudly presenting the long-length record we were all expecting, ‘Let It All Pass’.

What follows is a wholesome, meaningful journey into the pair’s country stylings, celebrating a heightened sense of Americana, something that tells us the two British talents are truly committing to their cause. Of course, there’s still a strong sense of eclecticism, with Desert Life not afraid to borrow from traditional and ethereal folk, drenched in melancholic energy and light pop flavourings.

The project is familiar with nostalgia and reflections, characterising itself with nuanced and wistful lyricism, the perfect match for Desert Life’s mellow, deep vocals. Speaking about the inspiration behind the album, they explain: “It serves as a mirror, reflecting life’s fleeting moments and deeper questions, inviting listeners to reflect and feel the music in the album form.”
