Desert Life Offer Soothing and Meaningful Gem ‘Sphere’

Soothing, elegant and relatable: ‘Sphere’ is one of those records crafted with care and intent, packing meaningful lyricism into a mellow and charming instrumental package. Penned by British duo Desert Life, the track delves into authentic folk territories, perhaps with just the right touch of archetypal rock songwriting. Built over feathery drums and gentle acoustic guitars, ‘Sphere’ provides the right companion for any escapism and introspection. If you need to reflect on life-related things and take a moment for yourself, Desert Life is what you should listen to. It’s good for the soul and the ears.

Head honcho Chris Swales – aka the founder of the project – lays his serene and delicate vocal tone on an already tender instrumental, while charging it with light evocative energy. Honestly, it’s a magical listening experience, the kind of sonic journey only a sapient creative can offer. Joined by collaborator Tom Jordan, Desert Life take shape and bloom into a majestic artistic outfit.

Speaking about the song, Swales explains: “Sphere is a delve into anxiety, and how the night can trigger increased fear and worry. It was written during the pandemic when I witnessed how some friends struggled with their mental health. The song is an observation about others, it also captured my own memory of when I have been in a similar situation. People may relate if they’ve ever lay in bed worrying about things!!!”
