Founded eleven years ago by Detroit natives Avery A. Sims and Craig “Mr. Groove” Lane, Def Machine has been widely celebrated for its style-bending expertise and fresh sonic creativity. Their 2014 debut offering ‘Slam Dance’ fused metal and alternative elements with hip-hop, while 2016’s ‘Get Hygh’, which featured Diggidy, was a vibrant and funk-infused celebration.
The duo have been rather quiet since the release of ‘Get Hygh’, but recently delivered a visual feast in the form of a music video for the track, which I’m stoked to share with you today!
Expertly complementing the tune’s uplifting message, the lively video is a celebration of life and music. Flashy cars, gold chains, dynamic dance routines…It’s all there! Filled with high-energy scenes that further reinforce the song’s theme of finding joy and euphoria in everyday moments, the entire experience is essentially an invitation to embrace joy in every beat.
While there’s been no mention of any new music in the pipeline, it’s our great hope that Def Machine will reignite their artistic fire. They’re too good a unit to only have two tracks. Come on fellas, give the people what they want!
Serious tune alert! Enjoy ‘Get Hygh’ on Spotify and YouTube now:
