Deer Park Avenue are not your typical rock outfit. In an era when everything seems to have been done already, the Munich-based duo champions a rock imprint that feels fierce, eclectic and universal, doing so with a rather unique identity. The pair is in fact made up of two sisters of Indian-American descent, now based in Germany. While this doesn’t necessarily influence their musical output, we’d say that – as a whole – such a unique origin story helps Deer Park Avenue reach higher artistic heights, further supercharged by the technical prowess exhibited by the duo.
‘Strut’ is the project’s latest effort. Already championed by editorial playlists and music lovers alike, the track is pure euphoria, a powerful journey into fuzzy, bluesy and hard rock, all delivered with modern flair and a dazzling production (courtesy of Reto Peter). Featuring notable drummer Gregg Bissonette, also the recipient of a small drum solo, ‘Strut’ is catchy and memorable, a listening experience that captures everyone’s attention almost instantly.
Describing their creative process, Deer Park Avenue explain: “It should always end with hope. Hope and love – these are two of the most important things we have in life, so that’s what’s important to us in our songs.”
