David Sirkis is an Israeli drummer and composer who has made a name for himself as one of the most talented and in-demand musicians in the country. Based in both Tel Aviv and New York City, Sirkis has been able to establish himself as a force in the jazz scene, both in Israel and internationally.
Earlier this month, he released his debut single entitled ‘Unleash Your Wild Self’, a groovy, jazzy, and instrumental piece that wonderfully captures an artist who simply has to express himself freely. “I wrote this piece thinking about what moves me when listening to music,” said Sirkis. And he came to the conclusion that “it is always a sincere, unrestrained self-expression”.
Teaming up with an exceptional group of musicians, David implements advanced rhythmic concepts and evocative, haunting melodies to create ‘Unleash Your Wild Self’. The tune is another beautiful example of a song that, ordinarily, I wouldn’t come across, but could not be happier that I did! Sirkis is undoubtedly the real deal and, with a wealth of knowledge and real-life experience to guide him, the only way now is up! We hope there are more singles on the horizon.
