Over the course of a year, we have grown accustomed to expecting wonderful releases from New York producer and composer David Baron. Usually, you’ll find him in his studio, crafting heart-warming melodies and poignant soundscapes for his next piece. Hosting a plethora of guest singers on his records, he’s also introduced us multiple times to Fiona Glenn, a young singer with an astonishing vocal tone. The perfect fit for Baron.
Writing about David’s latest release, the EP ‘Some Infinities Are Larger Than Others’ we proudly declared “it collects some of Baron’s finest work to date, exploring nuanced instrumental gems and vocally-powered jewels.” Now, the American musician borrows one of the tracks from that same EP, ‘Stardust’, giving it an evocative cinematic outlook via a mesmerising video. A 16mm shoot taking place in Dartmoor, Devon, by director Lobsterheard.
The results are impressive, and a fitting visual companion for the song. “The irony of mechanically winding up the camera in-between every shot of what is, essentially a sci-fi music video, was not lost on us. Yet, I felt such a strong urge to run with the stark juxtaposition of the 60s style of filmmaking within the beautifully timeless aesthetics that the natural landscapes of Devon had to offer, and the ethereal nature of the song and narrative” – explains the director.
The combo music and video is working extraordinarily well in this instance, and we urge you all to discover ‘Stardust’ at the link below:
