David Arkenstone Releases Bold and Epic Concept Album ‘Quest For The Runestone’

While the name David Arkenstone might not ring a bell, there’s a good chance that you’ve already heard some of his work. As a Grammy Award-nominated composer, David has provided scores for, among others, World of Warcraft, Lands of Lore, and a variety of NBC sports themes. An incredibly prolific artist and multi-instrumentalist, Arkenstone now offers up ‘Quest For The Runestone’, his brand new concept album inspired by his deep love and connection to Celtic, Nordic, and cinematic music traditions.

Featuring thirteen tracks and with a runtime of an hour, ‘Quest For The Runestone’ is a bold and epic musical experience. Composed, produced, and performed by David, the artist plays no less than ten instruments on the record and brings along Eric Rigler and Luanne Homzy (on violin) for the ride. Rigler, known as the most recorded bagpiper of all time, worked on the soundtracks for Braveheart and Titanic.

Rich and engaging from start to finish, ‘Quest For The Runestone’ has a medieval and mythical charm. Evoking grand and fantastical adventures, it conjures images of heroic deeds, epic quests, ancient mysteries, and enchanted landscapes.

It’s impossible to name favourite tunes from the album. Each has a life and a story that deserves your full attention. A splendid record that is utterly absorbing!
