DAS ELITE is the solo musical project of renowned Swedish producer and mixer Andreas Ahlenius. After spending years working with international gold and platinum-selling artists, Ahlenius introduced DAS ELITE, a getaway of sorts for his own personal creativity. ‘Landslide’ is the artist’s brand new EP, and it serves as the follow-up to last year’s ‘Torment’ EP. The title track is also the album’s opener and gets things underway in the most epic, melancholic, rich, and intensely captivating way. Truthfully, as soon as I finished listening to it the first time, I immediately put it back on again.
‘Align’ follows ‘Landslide’ and is the bonus track of the EP, with the remaining four being remixes of ‘Landslide’. It really is another absolute gem of a song! Like ‘Landslide’, it just sucks you in straight away and refuses to let go. Dreamy, synthy, ethereal, and emotional.
The music of DAS ELITE draws on influence from the likes of Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, and other electronic outfits. I’m going to be real with you…this is one of the best EPs I’ve heard so far this year. It’s outstanding! I cannot wait to hear more from DAS ELITE.
