Canadian-based pop-rock musician Darrian Gerard is gearing up for the release of her debut EP entitled ‘Basement Stadium’. Featuring five of the artist’s most vulnerable and unshielded tunes, the EP takes inspiration from Avril Lavigne’s album ‘Under My Skin’, Halsey’s ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’, and blink-182’s self-titled album. ‘Explosion’ gets things underway, and makes a hard-hitting and edgy entrance. With a stubborn attitude and a punk-rock soundscape, Gerard sets the tone perfectly for the rest of the EP.
‘Powerless’ follows ‘Explosion’, and takes you on a different sonic journey. Offering up a more electro-pop vibe this time, Gerard is able to showcase her incredible adaptability and versatility. Oh, did I mention that she also writes, records, plays, and produces everything herself? I didn’t? Well, now you know!
‘Everybody’s Mad At Me’ takes things down a notch, and is sure to resonate and tug at the heartstrings of anybody who relates to it. ‘Backseat Driver’ and ‘Old Wounds’ complete the EP and, without giving too much away, are both excellent and epic tracks in their own right. Do yourself a favour and stick on ‘Basement Stadium’ as soon as you can!
