Netherlands-based Danisha knows it very well, celebrating her Caribbean and Latin roots by releasing material that’s charming, groovy and empowering while exploring the complexity of human emotions. After having debuted in 2021 with ‘No Time’, Danisha now returns with ‘Elafonisi’, a further step in what feels like an informed and transformative artistic journey, steadily moving towards authentic and noble Latin musical matter.
‘Elafonisi’ echoes Danisha’s humble beginnings singing at regional events and bars in Venezuela, Curaçao and Argentina, boasting Spanish lyrics and a delightful ska-oriented arrangement. Channelling everything from Jazz RnB and Mediterranean tones, the talented young artist seems to be projected towards eclecticism, finding her true creative path in the process.
